R. 'White Gold' Size:3 gal size 4 year old plantsThis is the first rhododendron hybrid I ever grew in my yard, so I can say It is responsible for my passion for rhododendrons. The large reflexed flowers have a prominent gold flare in the upper lobe, and are described by some as a 'large leopard skin flare'. The plant is easy to grow, flowers dependably, and will make an attractive specimen in your landscape. Hardy to zone 7. Will grow to 6 ft tall and wide in 10 years.

In 10  years you can expect the tree to be 25-30 ft tall but only 8-10 ft wide

but some of the unusual forms found range from bright yellow

'Red Head' says it all

The fragrance is quite powerful

the foliage texture offers a nice contrast to the wider leaves of other varieties

Although we haven't tested this plant for more than 5 years
