I wanted to get this roadrunner running across the road

These are cavity nesters and we saw a nesting box being frequented by a Cactus Wren in the parking lot

This grebe looks a bit alarmed and scared

We watched them trade places several times from our lawn chair in the RV park

The ingenious entryway curves around inside to a protected chamber for the nestlings

but very busy carrying in good sized sticks for their new nest

In this shot we get a great profile and a look at the white nape of his neck

she doesn't seem alarmed by our group of birders

The various orange hues can sometimes be captured if the light is not too strong

I have some shots of this female receiving and swallowing a frog brought to her by her partner

No more yellow bill in adulthood but the eye goes to yellow
